The reporter learned that the energy density of this supercapacitor product can reach 13-15Wh/kg. Compared with similar products on the market with an energy density of 5-8Wh/kg, Zhongke Chaorong's supercapacitor performance has reached a leading level.
Supercapacitors refer to a new type of energy storage device that falls between traditional capacitors and secondary batteries. It combines high charging and discharging speeds with a certain energy storage density. Unlike batteries, supercapacitors use electrolyte polarization for energy storage. Therefore, supercapacitors have a high power density, can complete charging and discharging in seconds, and reliably operate over a million charging and discharging cycles. Xia Yong, Sales Director of Zhongke Supercapacitors, told reporters that whether used alone or in combination with batteries, supercapacitors can provide high power and stability, meeting the needs of many industries such as transportation, wind power, and power grids for higher power density and safety and environmental protection. According to Xia Yong, the supercapacitors produced by Zhongke Supercapacitors have improved their energy storage density in terms of single rated voltage and capacitance, while ensuring other characteristics of the capacitors. The single rated voltage has been increased to 3.2V. Currently, there are not many companies worldwide that can achieve a single rated voltage of over 2.7V for supercapacitors, and the energy density of capacitors is usually between 5-8 watt hours per kilogram. Only Zhongke Supercapacitors have a single rated voltage of 3.2 volts, and their energy density can reach 13-15 watt hours per kilogram, which is 2-3 times that of similar products.

Taking Maxwell 2.85V/3000F, a globally influential supercapacitor development manufacturer, as an example, Xia Yong pointed out that 3.2V is a significant improvement compared to 2.85V, with significant advantages in terms of technical level, voltage level, and product specifications. Zhongke Supercapacitors was established in 2018, transformed from the "General High Performance Supercapacitors Project" team of Chongqing Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chongqing Graphene Industry Research Institute. It has a long-term research and development team engaged in the research and development of supercapacitor devices and core materials, with strong research and development capabilities. Team leader Liu Shuangyi is a selected member of the "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with over ten years of research experience in the field of energy materials and devices. Xia Yong stated that most members of the company's team have a master's degree or above.
In November last year, Zhongke Chaorong completed an angel round of ten million yuan financing, mainly used for product research and development, pilot bases, and production line construction. In April of this year, the construction of the base was completed, and by the end of June, the production line was connected, and 3.2V capacitor products were taken offline, creating a very fast development speed.
